Parasailing Gran Canaria

What is the difference between skydiving and parasailing?

Many customers often ask what is the difference between skydiving and parasailing.
Skydiving and parasailing are both exciting aerial activities, but they differ fundamentally in the way they are performed and the experience they offer:
Skydiving:
* Jump: You jump from an airplane at a high altitude (usually 3,000 to 4,000 meters).
* Free fall: Before the parachute opens, you experience a rapid free fall of several seconds at high speed.
* Parachute flight: After opening the parachute, you glide gently to the ground and can control the flight.rn.
* Equipment: Requires special equipment such as a main and reserve parachute, harness, helmet and, if necessary, an altimeter.
* Training: Usually requires instruction or a tandem jump with an experienced instructor for beginners.
* Experience: Offers an adrenaline rush from free fall followed by a feeling of floating and control during parachute flight.
Parasailing:
* Start: You are attached to a special parachute (parasail), which in turn is connected to a boat with a rope.
* Ascent: As the boat accelerates, the parasail fills with air and pulls the person upwards.
* Flight: You float in the air, carried by the wind and pulled by the boat. Your height is limited by the length of the tow rope.
* Equipment: Requires a harness attached to the parasail.
* Training: Typically, no special training or experience is required.
* Experience: Offers a relaxing feeling of floating in the air and a good view of the surroundings, especially waterscapes. You have no control over the flight direction or altitude.
In summary:
* Skydiving is a more intense and action-packed experience, with the adrenaline rush of freefall and the ability to control the flight after the parachute opens. It requires more preparation and courage.
* Parasailing is a gentler and more accessible activity that allows you to float in the air while enjoying beautiful views. You’re tethered to a boat and have no control over your flight.
